Who Am I?

I am Aida Bevnja, Electrical and Electronics Engineer, graduated from International University of Sarajevo, and currently pursuing Master's degree in Embedded Computing Systems at University of Kaiserslautern.
Hardworking and skilled multitasker with exquisite work ethic and formal knowledge gained through excellent classroom performance. Graduate Research Assistant at CITCEA-UPC, developing a real-time digital twin of the electromagnetic and thermal behaviour of an electrical motor for EV applications, with PMSM modelling and control within the work, while using simulation and programming tools to implement the code in an embedded microcontroller.

Modeling Safety and Security for Automotive Software Engineering with SysML v2

Master Thesis, TBD.

Electric Vehicle Model with Regenerative Braking Strategy and Hybridization with Supercapacitors

Project done for Batteries course in January 2024.
Developing a simulation model of the powertrain for a battery-powered vehicle (Rimac Nevera) and expanding the model with the implementation of regenerative braking and the hybridisation with supercapacitors.
Software used: MATLAB with Simulink.

Design, build and experimental characterisation of a DC-DC converter

Project done for Power Electronics course in January 2024.
Design, development and experimental characterisation of a DC-DC converter, from the component selection process, simulation insights, experimental results analysis, focusing on optimising performance and ensuring stable operation through selection and integration of MOSFETs, power diodes, inductors and capacitors.
Simulations done with LTspice.

Energy Management method for a Parallel Mild Hybrid Vehicle using a Rule-based Method

Project done for Electromobility Seminar in September 2023.
Using QSS toolbox in MATLAB to optimize fuel efficiency and maintain battery charge levels during driving cycles, achieving an average fuel consumption reduction preserving battery charge.
Implemented using MATLAB and Simulink, using QSS Toolbox.

Design and Implementing an ASIL-D Software Architecture based on high performance FPGA and 32-bit Microcontroller for Automotive Applications

Bachelor Thesis, consisting of three main parts: Single- and Multi-core 32-bit Microcontroller, PWM Modulator, and a Safety Mechanism.
Written in C and VHDL in Quartus II, simulated using ModelSim, tested using Altera's DE2-115 FPGA board in June 2022.

Implemented in Quartus II, using Verilog HDL, simulated using ModelSim.

Bluetooth-controlled two- and four-wheel Line Follower Gripper Robot with Arduino

Car robot with two- and four-wheel drive, line-following and obstacle-detecting capabilities and a gripper, controlled via Android app, using a Bluetooth module.
Wheels controlled with two DC Motors, and an L293D Motor Driver.
Made with Arduino, HC-05 Bluetooth Module, IR and Ultrasonic Sensors in March 2022.
